No worries, the site is brand new.
This is just a topic to get things started, introduce yourselves, and talk to other new members.

I’m Ink Jackal, a self-taught animator recently started college and was inspired by my campus’s student tech-arts networking club and decided to make something similar online.

So let’s start with a simple question.
Where did you get your start in animation, art, graphic design, editing, game design, etc?

Hi c: I guess I'll just give this a go.

So, I started with art when I was in Junior Highschool when one of my classmates started doodling and I was super impressed by her drawings and wanted to try it for myself c: We became friends and decided to go to a Senior Highschool (or something similar) that is focused on graphic design, that's where I'm at now c: But I'm more into Digital Painting etc. than graphic design.
And for like a month or so I've been getting into 3D Sculpting with ZBrush, but I'm still figuring out how everything works c:

Do you plan to go into graphic design as a career and did you buy Zbrush or did you get it through a student license? My teacher has brought up Zbrush a couple times but we're using just 3DS Max and Mudbox in our course.

Not really, graphic design is more like a plan B for me, I'm aiming to get a job as a concept artist or something similar one day. I'm just using the trial of ZBrush so far, I'm planning on buying the Core version, since I don't need everything for now and it's way cheaper , I haven't checked the student licenses out so far tho. Ooh I haven't tried 3DS Max out yet (but it looks pretty cool!), but I have tried Mudbox before, but it wasn't working that great on my Laptop so I only tested it out for a bit, but I think it's pretty great.

I've only made 1 3D model in Mudbox so far and my friend described it as looking "homocidal" XD
How have your holidays been?

Aah it couldn't have been that bad xD
Pretty nice so far c: Still got alot of stuff to do for school, but that can wait xD how about yours?

It wasn't bad it was just a little scary looking. I've been busy haven't been drawing the past few days but did a drawing and a couple lineart animations earlier today.

Do you do any animations? Not sure if I've seen you on YouTube or not.
If you have any questions or want to share tips in regards to graphic design, art, 3D modelling and anything else you do you can make a topic in the respective category/forum. I did post something in the 3D modelling critique and I think I'll have to try posting sort of introductory topics for each category to get things rolling since I know it's daunting to be the first person to make a topic in a certain forum and I won't leave that pressure to new members to do that on their own. Though if this site picks up I want it to be community run, I don't want to be a controlling admin and have this be "my site", I made this site because I want to be a member of a site like this.

Not really I have made some super small ones (just like you know, basic rubber ball animation or small gifs) but nothing great. I tried making a MAP part once, but it's pretty much 100% a pmv part so didn't really animate anything.
